The team principal of the Aston Martin team - Mike Krack, suggested in a recent interview he would be very surprised if Mercedes and Ferrari introduced some revolutionary concepts ahead of the 2024 season.

Mercedes and Ferrari are two of the top teams whose only ambition is to compete for the Championship title. Both teams lacked quite a lot of pace on the leading Red Bull ever since the introduction of the new regulations in 2022.

Consequently, Ferrari and Mercedes decided to take a slightly riskier strategy and significantly change their cars going into the 2024 season to catch up with the team from Milton Keynes.

Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack asserted he expects every single team to choose an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary approach despite claiming great changes are coming. He told motorsport.com:

"When you have stable rules, the way we have it now, teams will rather go evolutionary. And if you have such a standout car, as we have with Red Bull, I think a lot of people will try to go in that direction."

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff asserted his team will change every single component of their car. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur suggested his team will change about 95%.

These words indicate very significant changes, and Krack is indeed curious to see what the two teams will bring into the 2024 season.

"On the other hand, we have heard from Ferrari, from Mercedes, that they will make very big architectural changes. So, we are curious to see what that is going to bring."

What is clear from the words of the Aston Martin team principal is that his team will not move too far away from the 2023 concept.

"But I think all in all, if you look at it, usually what happens if the technical regs stay [the same] the field is moving closer together year on year."

Krack added he would be surprised to see big deviations from the concept that has been persuaded all throughout the previous season.

"To come back to the original question: I will be surprised if there are big deviations to where we are now."
