Aston Martin team principal
Mike Krack asserted in one of his latest interviews that his star driver-
Fernando Alonso, feels very comfortable with his team.
The 42-year-old driver's incredible speed combined with 20 years of experience made Aston Martin one of the most dangerous teams to
Red Bull during the last season.
Alonso showed his age does not matter when it comes to performance on the track, and his team principal admitted it is great to have a driver he knows he can trust. Mike Krack told
Speedcafe:
"It is something we are aware of. When you have this high level of driving, and this high level of motivation and push, and when you see the record he had in quali three, always bringing the car there, you do not have these questions – 'Can the car go faster?'"
Alonso was not completely involved in the development of the previous car because he was not part of the British team before 2023.
However, in 2024, we will find out how much progress Aston Martin can make with the feedback of the double-world champion behind the wheel.
"It's very good for the team, and it builds also a lot of trust from the team to the driver and vice versa, and the drivers feel that. Drivers are very, very sensitive sensors. They can feel the smallest vibrations in the team."
The Spanish Matador became the most experienced F1 driver in the history of the sport as he broke the record for the most completed seasons in the sport last year (20 seasons).
Everyone approaches the 42-year-old with great respect, and there is no need to question his input, which his team principal believes creates a very comfortable situation for Alonso. He added:
"I think Fernando feels very comfortable in this team because he feels this trust we have, and nobody's ever doubting when he does something, and that works both ways."
