Fernando Alonso Díaz was born on July 29, 1981, to José Luis Alonso and Ana Maria Diaz Martinez. He is widely considered one of the best, most versatile, and most talented racing drivers in the world.
Starting his career very early at the age of three in go-karting, Fernando Alonso demonstrated his talent in the junior series. In 2001, Alonso signed his first contract in Formula 1 with the Minardi team.
Renault recognized the talent of the young Fernando Alonso and signed a contract with him in 2003. Fernando Alonso went on to win two F1 World Drivers' Championships consecutively in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons, driving for the Renault Formula 1 team. He also became the youngest driver double world champion at the time.
Going to McLaren (2007), back to Renault (2008 and 2009), and then to Ferrari (2010-2014), Alonso was always very competitive and achieved excellent results, won multiple races; however, he wasn’t the luckiest and finished as a runner-up in the World Championship three times in a row separated by a few points from the winners.
It was 5 points altogether that separated Fernando Alonso from winning three more World Championships. After quitting Ferrari in 2014, the Spaniard returned to McLaren for seasons 2015-2018, however, the team was struggling with reliability and performance, and Fernando Alonso could not achieve a single podium.
At the end of 2018, Fernando Alonso announced his career in Formula 1 came to an end and went to compete in other prestigious series. During his time away from Formula 1, Fernando Alonso won 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Daytona, and the 2018-19 WEC Drivers' Championship.
Perhaps missing the thrill of Formula 1, Fernando Alonso made a comeback in 2021, joining the Alpine team alongside Esteban Ocon. Despite multiple performance and technical issues, Fernando Alonso managed to get on his first podium since 2014 at the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix.
Fernando Alonso moved to Aston Martin for the 2023 season. Ever since joining Aston Martin, Alonso achieved many more podiums, thanks to the car's surprising speed, and he continues to add more to the list, highlighting his incredible driving skills and talent for racing.
