The circuit is situated approximately eight kilometers from Spa in Francorchamps, Stavelot, Wallonia, Belgium. It has an FIA Grade 1 license, which means that the circuit meets the highest standard of safety, infrastructure, layout, and other facilities.

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, also informally referred to as "Spa," is the longest circuit in the F1 calendar. It was opened for the first time in 1921 and celebrated its centenary in 2021. Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most famous circuits in the world and hosts a variety of events.

Popular races like 24 Hours of Spa, the World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and Uniroyal Fun Cup 25 Hours of Spa - one of the longest motorsport races in the world take place here. The circuit also hosts MotoGP, Spa Classic, TCR Europe Series, and many others.

Throughout its history, the circuit has undergone some major changes. Spa was a part of the first Formula One championship in 1950, however back then, the layout of the track was much more different. The circuit was 14,1 km long with extremely fast corners.

The old layout was considered dangerous, and after multiple fatal accidents preceding the year, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps was removed from the F1 calendar in 1971. Back then, the circuit also did not meet mandatory FIA Safety Specs, so it has undergone reconstruction in order to be safer.

The Circuit was shortened to 7.004 km (4.352 miles) - the current length, and in 1983, the Belgian Grand Prix returned to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps to host Formula One races again. The new version became a hit amongst both fans and drivers, and besides 1984, the circuit has hosted the Belgian Grand Prix ever since.
