Aston Martin F1 team principal Mike Krack reviewed his team's performances throughout the recent few races after the comeback in Sao Paulo.
Aston Martin has a tough tripleheader behind them. The team went to America with hopes of improved performance, bringing significant upgrades to Austin.
However, the three consecutive weekends probably turned out to be tougher and more miserable than anybody in Aston Martin would expect.
The team started from the pitlane for the United States Grand Prix and had to retire Fernando Alonso later in the race. On the other hand, Lance Stroll scored P7, which was a much better result than the following race.
Neither of Aston Martin's drivers finished the race in Mexico City, scoring 0 points for the team. Nevertheless, Aston Martin did not give up and managed to bounce back during the 2023 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Mike Krack told the media:
"It shows and you see it, what a strong team we are. We have kept together in difficult times. After Zandvoort, we had a couple of races that were not strong."
The Aston Martin team principal acknowledged the three consecutive race weeks have been "brutal" for his team in multiple aspects saying:
"We had the tripleheader, which is brutal in terms of workload, in terms of being away, time zones, heat and a lot of work with not so many results."
The team principal himself said after the Mexico City Grand Prix that nobody in the team was happy with the form Aston Martin showed. But he is proud of the comeback.
"To come back like we did, I think it's great credit to everybody involved. The team at the track, the team at the factory and campus the lights didn't go off, if you can believe me, at times."
Alonso also told the media he was getting a bit worried after Mexico City, but he is already looking forward to the Las Vegas Grand Prix following the incredible Sao Paulo performance. Krack concluded:
"[In Mexico] we were on the other side of the grid, you see how sometimes these things can go. But I think after Mexico, the reaction that we have shown as a team shows that we are really gearing up for more."
