Aston Martin F1 driver Lance Stroll gave a verdict on his future during a recent interview.

Lance Stroll is currently the worst-performing driver on the grid compared to his teammate. The current gap between Stroll and Fernando Alonso is 135 points.

Red Bull's Sergio Perez is the only driver doing worse compared to his teammate, Max Verstappen. Stroll has had a difficult season being compared to a double World Champion.

Aston Martin achieved eight podiums throughout the season, the most recent one being in Sao Paulo, but none of them have been achieved by the Canadian driver.

Former F1 races Christian Danner recently said Stroll should rethink what he wants from Formula One, suggesting it might make sense for the 25-year-old to change careers.

According to wtf1.com, rumors surfacing over the summer break suggested Stroll himself was considering a career change to a professional tennis player.

However, these rumors have been declined both by Stroll and his team principal Mike Krack. The Candian driver said in a recent interview:

"The plan is I'm staying next year. It's been a challenging season at times for sure. [There's been] some great highlights but also some really frustrating days of recent. But yeah, the plan is to keep going next year for sure"

Stroll's best results of the season include finishing P4 in Australia and achieving P5 during the most recent Sao Paulo Grand Prix. In comparison, his teammate scored five P3 and three P2 finishes.

Stroll will want to improve his form going into the next season. Even though Red Bull seems to be clear of all remaining teams at the moment, expectations are the gap will close during the next two seasons.

Red Bull's team principal, Christian Horner, recently mentioned the more they upgrade their car, the faster they are approaching the top of the development curve.

It is expected that once the team from Milton Keynes hits the top of the curve, the battle for the title will get a lot more competitive with teams like Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari, and Aston Martin.

If he wants to fight for the Championship, Stroll has to find more pace before Red Bull hits that top of the curve.
