Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen shared his first thoughts ahead of the last race of the season at Yas Marina Circuit.
The 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the second part of the two-header after the previous week's race in Las Vegas, which was won by Red Bull's F1 driver Max Verstappen.
The team from Milton Keynes achieved two great milestones during the previous race. Firstly, Sergio Perez ceiled second place in the Drivers' Championship, completing the Red Bull one-two result.
Secondly, Red Bull broke Mercedes's record for the most race wins in a single season from year 2016 when Silver Arrows won 19 races. Red Bull currently has 20 and has a chance to extend the record to 21 in Abu Dhabi.
Looking forward to the race in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen shared that the track always brings up good memories for him after winning his first Drivers' Championship title at Yas Marina Circuit. The Dutchman told the media:
"Abu Dhabi always brings back good memories for me and the team, winning my first Drivers' Championship here is a memory that we'll never forget."
The three-time World Champion confessed earlier this year he did not think the 2023 season could be even better than 2022, but as we know by now, the 2023 season might be one of the most dominant seasons Formula One has ever seen.
"It's been a long but successful season, I'm looking forward to a break and having some free time."
Red Bull's team principal, Christian Horner, mentioned everybody was "leaving Vegas slightly f****d." After the super intense, and exhausting schedule of the 2023 season, Verstappen hopes for the last push to end the year on a high.
"The whole team has worked incredibly hard and everyone deserves a good rest and time with their friends and families. It's the last push for the year and I'm hoping to end this season on a high."
