Former F1 owner Bernie Ecclestone denied on his social media all the recent reports that suggested he advised
Christian Horner to resign.
Christian Horner is currently under investigation for alleged "inappropriate behavior." It is carried out by an external lawyer hired directly by
Red Bull GmbH.
The situation is being taken very seriously, and last Friday, the team principal attended a questioning session that reportedly took around eight hours. So far, no conclusions have been made, and the team principal retains his innocence.
A recently published report from
F1 Insider stated that
Bernie Ecclestone supposedly advised the team principal of Red Bull to resign in order to prevent further damage to himself and his family. It read:
"Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, a confidant of Horner, has now also intervened and advised his friend to resign from the post of team boss in order to avoid further damage to himself and his family."
However, Bernie Ecclestone himself denied all the rumors about his alleged advice for Horner with a post on his Instagram that said:
"To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE."
While the former F1 supremo denied advising Horner to step down, he did not deny the suggestions that he has been in contact with the 50-year-old regarding his case.
Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater, who has a better insight into the situation, suggested he expects to see Horner even at tomorrow's launch of the RB20.
Christian Horner has not publicly commented on the investigation since it was launched. He has briefly denied all the claims against him but nothing more. Maybe, we will better understand the situation during or after tomorrow's launch of RB20.
