Charles Leclerc asserted three victories won't be enough for him this year, suggesting that his team feels challenging Red Bull will be possible.
Of course, every team from the top five in the 2023 Championship wants to challenge for the title in the 2024 season. However, it is more or less expected that
Red Bull should have at least a slight advantage over everyone at the beginning of the season.
Ferrari and
Mercedes are two teams that are not satisfied with any other result except for first place. But how possible is it that Ferrari would compete for the title in 2024?
Charles Leclerc feels his team got already very close to the team from Milton Keynes towards the end of the most recent season and has great momentum now. As reported by
BBC, he said:
"The momentum of the team and the decisions we took in the second half of the season were all very good and brought us closer and closer to Red Bull."
"Our goal is to start on similar basis to next year and then have the same progress and put pressure on Red Bull as soon as possible."
Moreover, the Monegasque driver added two or three victories this season, which will not be enough for him. To put it in perspective, he recorded 5 Grand Prix victories in total in his F1 career so far.
Leclerc's ambitions are to challenge the reigning Champions, Red Bull and
Max Verstappen, for the title, and he seems confident it is possible this year. He added:
"Two or three victories is not my target. No, it's not enough. I want to win as much as possible. We will do the count at the end of the year and after the first race understand how competitive we are."
