While it is not an easy job to be a teammate of
Fernando Alonso, Mike Krack asserted that
Lance Stroll learned a lot from the Spaniard throughout the previous season.
2023 has been one of the toughest years in F1 for the Canadian driver Lance Stroll.
The 25-year-old was outperformed by his teammate Fernando Alonso
by a quite significant margin of 130 points.
While it was a brutal comparison, it was an important step in Stroll's career as he strives for improvement and one day fighting for the World Championship title. His team principal stated the Canadian learned a lot from the double World Champion:
"You always look at what your team-mate is doing, how he's behaving, how he's handling things. But we have all learned a great deal – how we have to go on with things, to stick to what we know, and not trying to invent things, but sticking to our data, to the analysis, and moving on from there."
"And they are great team-mates. They talk a lot – how to improve here, how to improve there, how do you drive here, how do you drive there."
As we know, the British team made a very significant step forward in performance between seasons 2022 and 2023. The team principal, Mike Krack, attributes a big portion of the success to his Alonso- Stroll driver duo. He added:
"This is complimentary to all the driving analysis that we also do, so I think they have really helped each other, and again, as a team, with our drivers, we are much much stronger now than we were 12 months ago."
