Williams Formula One driver Logan Sargeant talked about the differences between the rookie series and F1 after his first season.
Logan Sargeant joined Williams to replace Nicholas Latifi ahead of the 2023 season to drive alongside more experienced Alex Albon.
The American driver scored his first F1 point during the rookie season at the United States Grand Prix, but unfortunately, that was the only point he was able to achieve this season.
Sargeant ranked 21st in the final standings of the Drivers Championship, underlining the fact that as a rookie to Formula One, he still has a lot to learn.
Fortunately for the 22-year-old, his team gave him another chance when it was just recently announced he would continue with Williams for the 2024 season.
The American driver will now have enough time to reflect on all the 22 races of the season and all good and bad thing his has done. When asked for his main take-away from this year, Sargeant told the media:
"The biggest thing for me is appreciating the level of effort that needs to go into it to be able to perform at such a level every single day."
Formula One is the most competitive sport in the World with only 20 drivers being able to race on the grid at the same time.
There are numerous young, talented drivers who cannot get the chance to compete in F1 just because it is already packed with the best drivers in the World who are on top of their game every single race.
Sargeant, who achieved 3rd place in the Drivers' Championship in Formula 3 and fourth place in Formula 2, shared he could get away with a lot more than in F1.
"You can get away with on a semi-average day in junior formulas, you're still right at the front. Whereas here, that's not the case. So it's about trying to constantly be able to perform at that level, day in and day out. I think that's been the biggest thing."
