A recent report from a Dutch newspaper revealed more information in relation to Christian Horner's ongoing investigation.
The Dutch daily morning newspaper De Telegraaf was the first to unveil on February 5th that Christian Horner was under investigation for "inappropriate behavior."
Red Bull then confirmed the parent company, Red Bull GmbH, had indeed launched the investigation against the team principal, which an external lawyer is carrying out.
The team principal first briefly rejected all of the allegations, but on Thursday, 16th of February, he attended the official launch of RB20 and answered more questions from the media.
Speaking to the media at the event, the 50-year-old admitted the investigation had been a distraction for his team, but he declined all the claims made against him.
The Briton continues as team principal as he retains his innocence until proven guilty. He said: "I fully deny the accusations that have been made, and my role continues."
Neither the team principal nor anyone from his team would elaborate on the details of the case. However, a recent report from De Telegraaf revealed more information than the newspaper claims to have access to.
Erik van Haren (who wrote the article) claims the team principal of Red Bull Racing has been accused of sexual misconduct.
Horner reportedly sent the employee inappropriate messages "regularly and over a significant period of time." All the messages have been allegedly saved and presented to the external barrister as evidence.
Moreover, De Telegraaf stated that Horner's lawyers tried to settle the case on February 3rd. The employee was supposedly offered £650,000.
The 50-year-old was actually asked a question related to this matter after Red Bull's launch. According to BBC, media asked Horner whether any deal had been offered to the complainant to shut her down.
It was at that point that a spokesperson interrupted and said, "Let's not go on with that."
