Max Verstappen's
Red Bull Racing F1 engineer Gianpiero Lambiase recently explained how never getting satisfied with results pushes the team forward.
Red Bull Racing won the 2023 Constructors' Championship in
Suzuka and the Drivers' Championship following race week in
Qatar.
F1 fans expected the team from Milton Keynes to sit back and ease up after these achievements. However, Red Bull won every single Grand Prix since then, not giving their opponents any chance for the top of the podium.
There just seems to be this continuing hunger for more and more wins inside the Red Bull team. Verstappen's race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase explained recently on the
Talking Bull podcast:
"No matter how many races we win. Or how many championships we have won or could win, I think the point is, I don’t think we’re ever happy, and our bar is so high."
The team's principal,
Christian Horner, lately
tried to explain the mindset of Max Verstappen, who is one of the main driving forces behind the success.
He said the Dutchman is not obsessive in chasing records or statistics. On the other hand, he is hugely competitive and hungry. He doesn't leave anything on the table and certainly does not lack motivation.
Lambiase explains he and Verstappen have similar "perfectionist" mindset. The team results show that the duo is obviously well synchronized. He added:
"I’d say we’re both perfectionists in that respect, that nothing is ever good enough and I think that’s what really motivates us to just keep doing what we’re doing, following the process, and achieving the best that we can."
Red Bull will want to continue the winning streak in the last two remaining races of the season in
Las Vegas (next week) and
Abu Dhabi.
The team that will try to challenge the dominant Red Bull will be
McLaren with
Lando Norris, who made
huge steps forward in recent races.
