Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen has been named in Time Magazine's 2024 100 Most Influential People in the world.

Max Verstappen is only 26 years old, but he is already a triple World Champion and well on his way to achieving a fourth title in 2024.

While he is still young, the Dutchman has already completed nine seasons in Formula 1. In these nine years, he completed 189 races and amassed 57 wins, 101 podiums, 36 pole positions, and 32 fastest laps.

Verstappen has previously received the Best Driver ESPY Award (2023) and was named Dutch Sportsman of the Year (2016, 2021, 2022) as well as Laureus Sportsman of the Year (2022).

In 2024, he added another huge achievement as he was included in Time Magazine's 2024 100 Most Influential People list, which includes world leaders, entertainers, and other icons in various industries. The Times Magazine wrote:

"No athlete has enjoyed more victory laps, in more disparate places around the world, than Verstappen, the Formula One driver who has won three straight F1 championships."
"Verstappen, who races under the Dutch flag, is so confident behind the wheel that during at least one race he's been able to keep an eye on the screens around the track in order to watch the battle going on behind him."

Verstappen has dominated the last two years of Formula 1 so much that it isn't surprising anymore to see him finish 20 seconds ahead of the field. He does have time to watch other drivers behind on the trackside screens.

"Orange-clad fans flock to his races to cheer him on, while others, dressed in the outfits of rival teams like Ferrari and Mercedes, boo him on the podium."
"The $3.2 billion Formula One business, which grew 25% in 2023, now centers on a singular question. Can anyone stop Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing machine? He's entrenched—quite comfortably—in the driver's seat."

Only two more F1 drivers in F1 history made the list of the top 100 most influential people in the world: Lewis Hamilton in 2020 and Michael Schumacher in 2005.
