The triple World Champion Max Verstappen pinpointed his best two Grand Prix Races of the dominant 2023 season.
Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen finished last 41 races in points and won 33 of them. The last time the Dutchman didn't finish the race inside the points was retirement at the Australian Grand Prix 2022.
The triple World Champion has been winning so much in the course of the last two seasons that his Dutch fans got used to him winning, as van der Garde mentioned.
Verstappen won 19 out of 22 races in 2023 and completed the most dominant season ever. Asked to pick the best races, it wasn't easy for the Dutchman, but he told motorsport.com:
"I think Spa was still a very strong weekend again. Probably Japan was very strong one – from lap one it was unbelievable to drive."
Verstappen started the Belgian Grand Prix from the sixth place on the grid due to strategy misunderstandings with his team during the Qualifying session.
However, he didn't give his rivals any chance. He got into the lead of the race by lap 18 as he overtook his teammate Sergio Perez and finished the race 22 seconds ahead of the second driver.
Japanese Grand Prix was probably the best weekend in the whole season for the triple World Champion as he also said he completed his favorite pole position qualifying lap at Suzuka Circuit.
Verstappen won qualifying in Japan by more than half of a second ahead of the second driver and finished the race almost 20 seconds ahead of the McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris in second place. The three-time World Champion added:
"I looked on the screen and I was like, ‘alright, that’s a good start!’ Balance-wise, probably Japan qualifying that was really nice to drive."
