The 2023 Formula One Champion
Max Verstappen is getting close to adding yet another amazing record to his collection.
Max Verstappen has been enjoying the benefit of having the dominant F1 car for the past two years. Besides winning three consecutive Drivers' Champions, the Dutchman broke many incredible records throughout 2022 and 2023.
Some of the most interesting 2023 records include leading 1003 laps throughout a single season, most wins in a season (19), most consecutive wins in a season (10), winning a race with the most pit stops (6), and more.
While he has already achieved some incredible results,
Red Bull still went into the winter break with a performance advantage over other teams, and it seems Verstappen might have a decent chance of breaking some more records in 2024.
One of these records includes the most consecutive point finishes. Verstappen has been extremely consistent in the 2023 season and was the only driver to finish every single race. Moreover, he finished every single race inside the points.
Verstappen's streak begins with the 2022
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which was the fourth race of the season. Ever since then, Verstappen finished every single race inside the points.
That's 41 consecutive point finishes for the triple World Champion. As a side note, the 26-year-old has won 33 out of 41 races since the fourth race of the 2022 season.
Nevertheless, the only F1 driver to score more consecutive point finishes in the history of Formula 1 is the seven-time World Champion
Lewis Hamilton.
The
Mercedes driver ran a 48-race-long streak from the 2018
British Grand Prix until the 2020
Bahrain Grand Prix, after which he tested positive for COVID-19 and could not attend the next event, ending his streak.
Do you think Verstappen can extend his current streak and break an already unbelievable record of being the seven-time World Champion in 2024?
