According to recent reports, Max Verstappen's father suggested his son could leave Red Bull if he had to.

The controversy around the team principal of the Red Bull Racing F1 team is currently damaging the Red Bull brand, according to many experts like Ralf Schumacher.

But it would be worse if it also had an influence on the atmosphere and relationships within the team, and according to the recent words of Jos Verstappen, it does.

The father of the triple World Champion went as far as to say that if Horner remains in his position as the team principal, it could tear the whole team apart.

He also said the team principal is only "playing the victim" while he is the one who is "causing problems." What is clear is that Verstappen Senior doesn't seem to want Horner as Red Bull's team principal anymore.

According to De Telegraaf, the triple World Champions father, he also said amid all this controversy that his son will leave the team from Milton Keynes if he has to.

What's more, Jos Verstappen was spotted speaking to the team principal of Mercedes, Toto Wolff, during this race weekend at Bahrain International Circuit.

Following the conversation, when the media asked Wolff whether Max Verstappen in Mercedes' seat was possible in 2025, he responded with words: "Anything is possible."

The 26-year-old himself hasn't commented on any of these issues so far. Could we really see the triple World Champion in the seat of Silver Arrows sooner than expected?

Until now, it was presented that Red Bull is his family. His manager suggested it is possible that the Dutchman would stay with Red Bull until the end of his career.

Moreover, Red Bull is providing Verstappen with the quickest car on the grid, which will likely remain so in 2025. From this perspective, it doesn't seem like the best move for Verstappen to depart Red Bull.

However, after watching Lewis Hamilton switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, maybe we shouldn't be so hasty in dismissing such an option.
