The father of the triple World Champion, Jos Verstappen, asserted it is Christian Horner who is "playing the victim" and "causing problems."
The Red Bull Racing F1 team is in a strange situation at the moment. They just had the best imaginable start to the 2024 season, but it seems the relationships within the team are torn apart.
Christian Horner, who has been investigated and consequently clear of all accusations of "inappropriate behavior" against a female employee of the staff, recently said: "Within the team, it (the unity) has never been stronger."
On the other hand, Max Verstappen's father said something different in a recent interview with Mail Sport. The 51-year-old asserted there will be tension as long as Horner retains his position of the team principal.
"There is a tension here while he remains in position. The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems."
After the statement from Red Bull said that the team principal had been cleared of all the accusations, Horner remained in his position during the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.
However, it doesn't seem like the case can be completely closed and forgotten. Ahead of the qualifying on Friday, an anonymous email was sent to all the media and senior personnel within F1.
The email contained a link to Drive, which was supposed to contain alleged evidence (in the form of text messages) in the previously concluded investigation.
The outside pressure on the resignation of the Formula One team principal seems to be growing. Now the question is. Can F1 move on without the resignation of Christian Horner, or is it something that inevitably has to happen sooner or later?
