Red Bull released a statement saying
Christian Horner has been officially cleared of all the accusations, and the investigation against the team principal has been concluded.
The team principal of the Red Bull Racing F1 team, Christian, has been under investigation since the beginning of February when a female employee accused him of "inappropriate behavior."
Red Bull didn't really officially specify what the term "inappropriate behavior" stood for, but now it is clear that the 50-year-old has been cleared of all the accusations.
The investigation was carried out by an external barrister who reviewed all the evidence. Part of it was also an interrogation that took place on the ninth of February.
The overall process took a lot longer than initially expected, and it was repeatedly suggested in the meantime that the team principal step down.
However, Horner denied all the investigation, and because he was considered innocent until proven guilty, he remained in his position throughout both Red Bull's car launch and pre-season testing in Bahrain.
Many parties also got involved or reacted to the investigation. F1 and FIA both put out statements last week where they didn't comment on the case in detail but
called for a resolution to the investigation as soon as possible.
And today, on Wednesday, 28th of February, one day before the start of the first race weekend of the season in Bahrain, Red Bull finally delivered the verdict on the fate of the team principal. The statement from the Austrian company read:
"The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal."
While we now know that Horner is cleared of the "inappropriate behavior" speculations, Red Bull stated the company won't share additional details about the investigation.
"Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial. The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation and therefore, we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."
