Formula 1 management officially responded to Christian Horner's case for the first time since the investigation was launched on the 5th of February.
Christian Horner's investigation has been in process for at least 15 days since it was announced on the 5th of February, 2024. However, no conclusions have been reached up until this article was posted.
It was first expected to be a matter that would be solved within weeks, but the investigation turned out to be more complicated, and as of now, there is no deadline for reaching a conclusion.
The latest report from De Telegraaf suggests Horner supposedly sent inappropriate messages to one of the female employees repeatedly and over a longer period of time.
These messages were reportedly saved and presented to the external barrister. It is important to mention this hasn't been officially confirmed, so at this stage, these are only speculations that might or might not be proven right later on.
The 50-year-old has not been proven guilty yet, so he retains his innocence and continues his job business as usual in the position of the team principal of the Red Bull Racing F1 team.
Last week, it was reported by F1 Insider that Formula One management was also starting to take an interest in this case. Since then, it didn't take long for FOM to make an official statement. It read:
"We have noted that Red Bull has instigated an independent investigation into internal allegations at Red Bull Racing."
"We hope that the matter will be clarified at the earliest opportunity, after a fair and thorough process and we will not comment further at this time."
FOM highlighted the urgency of the matter. Formula 1 cars will hit the track for the first time in less than two days on Wednesday, February 21st.
Horner should be present at the pre-season testing if his investigation doesn't reach a conclusion that would prove him guilty beforehand.
