Red Bull Racing Formula One driver
Max Verstappen reflected on the end of the 2023 season at FIA Gala Prize Giving.
The FIA Gala took place yesterday in the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku, and Max Verstappen with Red Bull Racing came to collect awards for the super successful season.
Verstappen did an amazing job throughout 2023 with super consistent performances race after race without making a single mistake.
Multiple F1 experts credit the Dutchman for the amazing year that the Red Bull Racing team has had, but there have also been other aspects crucial for the success, like the RB19 car, for example.
Red Bull Racing team principal
Christian Horner called the RB19 a "
rocketship of a car." Verstappen talked about the RB19 at FIA Gala:
"Throughout the year we were on a great role. I think it did hit me a little bit more once I was standing on the podium in Abu Dhabi, you realize the season is over and you don't get to drive this car anymore."
The triple World Champion also gave credit to his team, which was another essential aspect of the success that Red Bull Racing achieved this season.
"It's been incredible, it's been a lot of great fun as well to work with everyone. We all want to win and do the best we can, but when you're traveling around so much all over the world, you want to also do it with a great group of people. We have that at Red Bull, and I'm extremely proud of what we have achieved this year."
What Red Bull achieved in 2023 will be almost impossible to replicate in upcoming seasons. The team almost managed to do a clean sweep, missing only one win in the whole 22-race-long season.
The team from Milton Keynes was always on top of the strategy reliability and even had the fastest pitstops. Verstappen is the only driver on the F1 grid who finished every single race of the season, and that speaks volumes.
