Mercedes Formula One driver
Lewis Hamilton expressed his support for Susie Wolff and disappointment about FIA's questioning of her integrity.
It seems everything was based on an article published by a news agency saying that an anonymous team principal suggested
Toto Wolff was in possession of valuable information that he should not have been, and the source could only be FOM - hinting his wife, Susie, shared the confidential information.
Lewis Hamilton expressed his disagreement with FIA's actions during yesterday's FIA gala prize-giving ceremony as he said:
"It’s been a challenging week, disappointing really to see that the governing body of our sport has sought to question the integrity of one of the most incredible female leaders we've ever had in our sport in Susie Wolff, without questioning [or] without any evidence."
"Then saying sorry at the end, that's just unacceptable. So we've got a lot of great people within the sport who are doing amazing work. There is a constant fight to really improve diversity and inclusion within the industry."
The seven-time World Champion suggested there are people in the lead of the FIA organization who are against the step forward in terms of diversity and inclusion. The 38-year-old concluded by saying there has to be a change:
"But it seems that there are certain individuals in the leadership within the FIA that every time we try and make a step forward, they're trying to pull us back. And that has to change."
