Toto Wolff discussed the investigation of the team principal, Christian Horner, during the Wednesday pre-season testing press conference in Bahrain.
The pre-season testing in Bahrain has already started, and Christian Horner is present at the Bahrain International Circuit with his Red Bull Racing team.
Even though the 50-year-old is under investigation, as long as he is not proven guilty, he retains his innocence and can continue in his position business as usual.
The team principal of Mercedes (Red Bull's greatest rival), Toto Wolff, was asked to comment on the matter during the press conference during the first testing day, and he told the media:
"If it is done in the right way with transparency and rigour, we need to look at the outcomes and what it means for F1 and how we can learn from that."
Horner denies all the allegations that have been made against him, and as it stands, it isn't clear how much longer it will take until his case is concluded. Wolff continued:
"F1 and the teams, we stand for inclusion, equality, fairness, diversity. And it is not only talking about it, it is living it day in and day out."
"These are the standards we are setting ourselves. We are a global sport, one of the most important sports in the world, and we are role models."
The most recent report from De Telegraaf suggested the team principal is being investigated for sending inappropriate messages to Red Bull's female employee "repeatedly and over a long period of time."
It also mentioned the 50-year-old allegedly tried to pay off the employee. These are some serious allegations that are bad not only for Red Bull but also for all of F1, according to the team principal of Mercedes.
"But there is a lot of speculation happening over the last weeks, speculation we have heard of, and lots of things that are going on. It is not just a team issue. It is an issue for all of F1."
