Ferrari driver
Carlos Sainz addressed rumors about potential talks and a move to
Red Bull after his father was spotted to Christian Horner and Helmut Marko.
It is clear that Carlos Sainz will not be driving for Ferrari after the end of the season 2024.
The Spanish driver will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton, and now, he needs to look for a seat on another team.
There will be quite a few empty seats after the end of the upcoming season, so Sainz will surely have plenty of choices as one of the most attractive drivers on the market currently.
A recent photo of his father, Carlos Sainz Sr., talking to
Christian Horner and
Helmut Marko sparked speculation on social media as people suspected it wasn't just a casual conversation but rather talks about potential future collaboration. The Ferrari driver told the media:
"Obviously, I need conversations with everyone to see what everyone offers and what everyone has in mind."
Alex Albon recently said in one of his interviews that everybody talks to everybody. Drivers need to look around to see what their options are, and teams do exactly the same.
"And then, with all these options in place, I will take what's best for my career and for myself as an individual and as a driver, but the good thing is that I have time."
At the moment, the 29-year-old still has one more season to make his decision. On the other hand, he must find himself a seat before they are all taken by other drivers. He continued:
"If you saw my dad went to say hello to Helmut Marko you need to remember he has a great relationship with him in the same way we have a good relationship with Toto [Wolff]."
Drivers shouldn't really be seen talking directly to other teams. Therefore, they often send their managers or family members to speak to them, and Sainz Sr. knows almost everyone in the paddock.
However, the Scuderia driver added that the conversations didn't have to be about contract negotiations, as he said:
"With everyone in the grid, it is normal at this stage of the year. But also, we haven't seen each other for three or four months or so you're going say hello to each other."
