In a recent interview, the AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo revealed AlphaTauri's big plans for the future and his career goals.
The Australian F1 driver found himself a seat in AlphaTauri as a replacement for Nyck De Vries for the 11th place of the season at Hungaroring after a successful test with Red Bull car at Silverstone.
Even though he suffered an injury and didn't race for most of the season, Ricciardo lately said he regained confidence and motivation in 2023 with AlphaTauri.
The Honey Badger initially didn't want to join any F1 team competing at the back of the grid, but he told RacingNews365 in a recent interview he enjoyed racing for AlphaTauri much more than he would think.
"I think being here, it's something that I've enjoyed probably a lot more than I ever thought I would and even for myself just building myself back up, building my confidence back and being with a team that certainly kind of fills me with confidence."
The 34-year-old also mentioned his team's big plans to evolve from the junior team that it has been called for multiple seasons to a serious contender.
"For next year they've got big plans I think we're going to move away from a junior team and really try to fight at the front of the midfield and get a bit more support from Red Bull."
Rumors in recent weeks suggested the Australian driver might have a clause in his contract allowing him to join Red Bull as a replacement for Sergio Perez if the Mexican driver doesn't improve his form at the beginning of the next season.
Whether these rumors are true or not, Ricciardo declared his end goal is to get back to the team from Milton Keynes and finish his career there.
“The energy is going in the right place and then we’ll see. My end goal would be to get back with Red Bull one day that's the fairytale. I would love to finish my career there."
