Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to both have a deal on the table with Scuderia Ferrari that just needs signiture.
Both Ferrari drivers' contracts expire at the end of the 2024 season, along with 12 other drivers from various teams, including Red Bull and Aston Martin.
Sensing a danger from other teams that might have an interest in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, Ferrari decided to negotiate contracts as one of the first teams.
Red Bull's and Mercedes's team principals, Christian Horner and Toto Wolff, recently commented on the situation, saying Ferrari would "be crazy" not to sign Leclerc.
Recent rumors suggested the Monegasque already signed a five-year extension to his contract, guaranteeing him a place in Ferrari at least until 2029.
It was also indicated that Sainz wanted at least a two-year deal while the team offered him only one one-year extension, not showing enough trust in the Spaniard.
However, according to formu1a.uno, Ferrari has no doubts about the 29-year-old and wants to continue with him with a two-year contract.
The number 55 driver would then stay with the Italian team until at least 2026 and would also see a raise in salary. His teammate Leclerc apparently has not signed a contract so far.
The 26-year-old allegedly has a 3-year contract on the table with an option to extend it by two more years under specific conditions.
Similar to what previous rumors suggested, the contract apparently promises a significant financial boost, with his salary gradually increasing with every additional season.
The first three years of the contract are said to have no exit clauses or conditions, and the following two-year option can be taken in case both parties are satisfied.
In case Ferrari failed to produce a competitive car under 2026 regulations, Leclerc would be free to walk away after the initial three years.
