Charles Leclerc asserted he is prepared to do "absolutely everything" to win the championship with Scuderia Ferrari in the upcoming seasons.
Charles Leclerc has been with Ferrari for five seasons. Having signed a multi-year contract with his team before the start of the 2024 season, it is clear the Monegasque will remain with the team for at least three more seasons.
Though he has shown immense potential and achieved some success with his team, the 26-year-old has fallen short of his goal of winning the championship throughout all five previous seasons.
Leclerc came perhaps the closest to winning the Championship during the 2022 season when he was leading with a 50-point advantage over Max Verstappen at one point.
However, Ferrari later quickly lost its advantage through the development race, strategic mistakes, and driver errors. In the end, Leclerc finished 146 points behind the Dutchman.
In 2023, the Monegasque driver didn't have a car that would allow him to compete for the title, but the Italian team caught up with Red Bull towards the end of the season, so it will be exciting to see the comparison at the start of 2024.
But what would happen if Ferrari fell behind and wasn't competitive in the upcoming couple of seasons? Would Leclerc consider changing teams? He told the media:
"I love Ferrari very much, and my goal of my career is to win a title with Ferrari, and I'll do absolutely everything in order to win the title with Ferrari. And then for the future, I've just signed my new contract so I don't want to be speaking about that now."
With the multi-year contract in hand (starting from season 2025), Leclerc has a couple of years to win the Championship with the red. However, he would like to do it as soon as possible, of course.
Moreover, he will be joined by the seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton starting in season 2025, which could also complicate his chances. What do you think? Can Leclerc win the Championship with Ferrari in the upcoming three years?
