Scuderia
Ferrari team principal
Frederic Vasseur gave
Max Verstappen a few words of praise after the 2023 season.
Max Verstappen is a driver that probably almost every team would want in their lineup after the excellent and extremely dominant 2022 and 2023 seasons.
While his success can also be partially attributed to his team, which developed an incredibly fast car, provided the fastest pitstops, 100% technical reliability, and great race strategies, the Dutchman's race craft cannot be denied at this point.
Verstappen is the only driver on the F1 grid that finished every single race of the season. What's more, the triple World Champion scored points in every single race highlighting the astonishing consistency.
The 26-year-old
made history by winning 19 out of 22 races of the season. There were only two drivers on the grid in 2023 who managed to win a Grand Prix besides the Dutchman.
One of them is Verstappen's teammate
Sergio Perez, and the other one is Scuderia Ferrari driver
Carlos Sainz. Sainz's team principal, Frederic Vasseur, was asked to comment on Verstappen's achievements, as quoted by Motorsport.com, he said:
"I think it is not sure that someone has a doubt on this, he did a mega season. He was fighting with Checo in the first two or three events and then he was on another planet."
At the end of the season, Verstappen beat his teammate by 290 and broke the record for the biggest gap between the first and second drivers in the Championship.
Timo Glock suggested it is remarkable how Verstappen
did not make a single error, a single mistake throughout the whole season. Vasseur concluded:
"Clearly, he didn’t do a mistake all season, and when he struggled in quali, like in Jeddah, it was due to a mechanical issue. And then he was always there, always making good starts, no contact. The only one was Vegas."
