Frederic Vasseur

Frederic Vasseur is a French Team Principal of the Scuderia Ferrari in the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.

Frederic Vasseur was born on May 28, 1968. He was married on July 31, 1999, and has four children. Vasseur originally studied aeronautics and engineering - a study that prepared him well for his future job.
He founded his own racing team in the junior Formula Series called ASM in 1996. in partnership with Renault, the team went on to win the French Formula 3 championship two years later in 1998.
Vasseur also won Formula 3 Euroseries championships in partnership with Mercedes-Benz in the years 2004 to 2007, working with racing stars like Lewis Hamilton, Paul di Resta, Jamie Green, and Romain Grosjean.
In 2004, Vasseur joined forces with Nicolas Todt to form ART Grand Prix - a team that would compete in the GP2 Series Championship. They went on to win the championship with Nico Rosberg in 2005 and with Lewis Hamilton in 2006.
In 2016, Frederic Vasseur joined the newly reborn Renault Sport Formula One Team. However, he resigned at the end of the season after disagreements with managing director Cyril Abiteboul on how the team should be run.
On July 12, 2017, Sauber signed Frederic Vasseur as a managing director and CEO of Sauber Motorsport AG, and as a principal of the Sauber F1 team at the same time. During the next few years, Vasseur restructured the team and signed an important sponsorship with Alfa Romeo.
On December 13, 2022, after a season that did not meet expectations, Scuderia Ferrari announced the departure of the team principal Mattia Binotto. Vasseur was appointed as his replacement to become the second Frenchman in history to head the Scuderia after Jean Todt.
Frederic Vasseur got his first Formula One race win as a team principal at the Singapore Grand Prix in 2023, with Spanish driver Carlos Sains Jr. behind the wheel of the Ferrari SF-23.
