Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen won the 2023 Formula One Drivers' Championship ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez in second place.
The 2023 season has been almost completely dominated by the Red Bull Racing F1 team. Its two drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, won 21 out of 22 races in the season.
While the team from Milton Keynes was miles ahead of everybody, the battles behind were very close, with Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and McLaren being pretty much equal at various circuits.
Had there not been the two Red Bull drivers in the 2023 season, we would have seen seven different Grand Prix winners from four different teams mentioned above.
While not being satisfied with his season, Lewis Hamilton was the third-best driver, four positions ahead of his teammate George Russell.
Fernando Alonso in fourth place had an amazing start to the season but then suffered as his team failed to bring functional upgrades. Nevertheless, he scored 132 points more than his teammate Lance Stroll in tenth place.
Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz also might have collected a lot more points but were probably the unluckiest drivers of the 2023 season. Consequently, it was only P5 for Leclerc and P7 for Sainz.
McLaren driver Lando Norris, who said, "If you're not first, you're last," ended the season in sixth place, three positions from his rookie teammate Oscar Piastri, who substituted Daniel Ricciardo.
The Honey Badger went to AlphaTauri, where he got his seat mid-season from unsuccessful Nyck De Vries. The Dutch driver failed to score a single point, and as a consequence, he was replaced.
However, Daniel Ricciardo suffered an injury during the Dutch Grand Prix so AlphaTauri had to bring in another driver. Liam Lawson got his chance and showed great promise as he outperformed Yuki Tsunoda at the time.
The Japanese driver, on the other hand, stepped up at the end of the season, collecting points race after race to make it a total of 17.
The only driver with better results from teams that raced at the back of the grid was Alex Albon in 13th place, who destroyed his rookie teammate Logan Sargeant in 21st place.
Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon were pretty equal throughout the season, but Gasly had the upper hand in the end as he ended the season ahead of his teammate.
The drivers that struggled the most with low performance at the end of the season were Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen on Haas, with Alfa Romeo drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
