Former F1 driver Christijan Albers discussed the situation at Red Bull amid the recent drama that the team has been going through.
Despite all the controversy surrounding him and his team, Christian Horner seems likely to retain his position as Red Bull Racing's team principal.
That is reportedly "terrifying" for former F1 driver Christijan Albers. Speaking to De Telegraaf’s podcast, he suggested he still expects a "lot more will surface."
"Because, by the way it's all being picked up and it's just being waved away, then you make someone on the other side extra angry. I think a lot more will surface."
As the investigation against Horner took place, all the attention was on him. However, it started shifting around the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Initially, it was unclear whether the British team principal would retain his role, but suddenly, Helmut Marko (said to be on the side opposing Horner) was threatened with suspension.
"Then, still, [Horner has] this drive and envy to still be able to get that number one position and just chop everyone's head off."
Marko then met with Red Bull's managing director, Oliver Mintzlaff, and told the media he won't be leaving for now, although he admitted he had already thought about it last year.
Many consider Horner a crucial member of Red Bull Racing, without whom the team wouldn't be enjoying its current success. But when it comes to Albers, he suggests Marko's contribution was more important.
"If you start looking very realistically, which drivers did he put in the car, and which drivers did Dr Marko put in the car? Looking at success, with all due respect, all success comes from Marko."
"So if you really start looking at who has a view on talent, there is absolutely no debate on that. That's just Dr Marko, who has always made the right choices."
