Max Verstappen's move away from Red Bull has been surprisingly discussed in recent weeks, and according to Helmut Marko, any team would welcome him.
Red Bull has been going through a really turbulent period, which started with an investigation of Christian Horner's alleged "inappropriate behavior." But the Team Principal was cleared of all accusations.
Soon after that, another investigation was launched, this time against the team's advisor and one of the key figures, Helmut Marko. And it was this investigation that prompted Verstappen to consider his exit from the team.
The waters have seemingly calmed since then, but the discussions about where the Dutch driver could possibly move have not. Even Mercedes' Team Principal, Toto Wolff, admitted that he would be happy to have Verstappen on his team.
That's certainly not surprising for Marko, as in the conversation with De Telegraaf, the 80-year-old admitted that, according to him, the three-time World Champion would have a "door open for him everywhere."

"What happens when Max is done with it? Then we will discuss that internally. But I’m sure a door will open for him everywhere."

Marko's claims are not surprising, given the Dutch driver's recent dominance. He's broken multiple records during the 2023 F1 season, and in 2024, it seems that he's far from stopping.
He's already won two races, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix being his second triumph, and having such a driver on their team would certainly boost any team's chances of winning a race or the World Championship.
Still, the 26-year-old seems committed to staying with the Austrian team, as he has hinted his loyalty multiple times despite the team's most recent off-track controversies and struggles.
At the moment, Verstappen's contract with Red Bull is valid until 2028, but of course, he has a clause that would permit him to leave the team under certain conditions.
