"My mindset also didn't change after winning the championship. I come to the race weekends, and I always try to do the best I can."
Red Bull's F1 team principal Christian Horner shared the three-time World Champion has just incredible hunger for success and does not lack motivation at all. Verstappen continued:
"Why would I not want to win when you have the opportunity to win? When I see that there is of course the opportunity to win, I will always try to do the best I can and also for the team."
Verstappen told the media during a press conference after the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, that he specifically went for a worse strategy in order to break the record of leading more than 1000 laps.
"When you have such a good car, you want to try and extend certain records and do well."
All in all, the 26-year-old's domination surprised everybody around him and does not give his competitors like Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes much hope going into the 2024 season.
