Four-time Formula One World Champion Alain Prost suggested that Max Verstappen doesn't show any signs of struggles with motivation.
Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen has made it clear numerous times that his primary goal is winning a championship in F1. One Championship...
The three-time World Champion said that everything that came after his first Championship in 2021 was a bonus for him and not something he would dream about.
Moreover, the 26-year-old said in an interview ahead of the first race weekend of the 2024 season that striving for more achievements wouldn't be something that keeps him in F1 after his contract expires.
Some would say that the Flying Dutchman lacks motivation. However, his results throughout the last two seasons say otherwise. Want to hear an incredible stat? Out of the previous 44 races, Verstappen won 35. Alain Prost told ServusTV:
"When you won the first title, the philosophy changes. You have achieved a big goal in your career, now you need a new goal."
The four-time World Champion understands the importance of motivation as he is one of the few people in the World who have been in a similar situation. He continued:
"This is especially important in the situation like Max Verstappen today. He now won three titles and so many races in 2023. You have to be able to motivate yourself constantly."
Verstappen started the 2024 season with a dominant win when he finished the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix with a 20-second lead over everyone.
If the 26-year-old can continue on the same trajectory, we might start calling him a four-time World Champion soon. Prost added that he doesn't think the Red Bull driver will struggle with motivation, so there might be a lot more to come for him.
"With Max, I don't recognize any problem in this respect. The way he leads his life, his attitude, his character, he always seems fresh and hungry for success."
