Red Bull Racing driver
Max Verstappen asserted that striving for more achievements won't be something that would keep him in F1.
Max Verstappen is already a triple World Champion, and it seems clear that in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, he will have a decent chance of achieving two more Championship titles.
However, the 26-year-old has already mentioned in the past that his goal was only to win one championship, which he managed to do in 2021, and everything else that comes next is only a bonus for him.
The Dutchman also hinted multiple times that he might not stay in F1 for too long as he already has other plans for his future,
like creating his own GT3 team (on which he is already working), for example.
While some others, like
Lewis Hamilton, strive to break records, like achieving the eighth World Championship, Verstappen recently reiterated that he is already satisfied and achieving more won't be a reason for him to stay in F1. As reported by
nl.motorsport.com"I'm already very happy with what I've performed in Formula 1. I don't have to stay for the performance. I've already put down more than I could have ever dreamed of."
While many fans like to lead debates over who the best F1 driver of all time is, and a number of Championship titles often plays a role, it doesn't at all matter to Verstappen. He added:
"But once you stop racing, it doesn't matter if you have become world champion three times, five times or seven times. For how I live on, it doesn't matter. It's not about me being remembered as someone who has become world champion at least three times."
"Once you stop the Formula 1, the book is closed for me and then it's done. Then I don't care what other people think about that."
