Christian Horner put out a statement yesterday responding to an alleged leak of material purporting to be the evidence in his investigation.
Just two days ago, on Wednesday, the 28th, Christian Horner was officially cleared of all the accusations against him, for which he had been investigated since the beginning of February.
No more information about the case was shared in the document due to the confidential and private nature of the information of all parties involved.
It seemed we would never find out more about the investigation and would just move on, focusing on the season ahead, but yesterday, on Thursday, the 29th, something happened.
Many media with Formula 1 personnel received an email with a link to the driver that was supposed to include screenshots of the messages purporting to be the alleged evidence that was used in Horner's investigation.
This email was sent to 149 people. According to BBC, the messages have also been brought to the attention of the governing body FIA, which is now discussing the matter with F1 management.
Christian Horner reacted to this email as he put out a statement saying he wouldn't comment on the anonymous speculation and reiterated that he denies all the accusations made against him.
“"I won't comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations. I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way."”
“"It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made."”
Almost all major news outlets connected with F1 reportedly have the alleged evidence in their email. According to Julianne Cerasoli, English media started receiving messages from lawyers warning them not to publish what they received in emails.
“"Now, English media are receiving a message from lawyers in the country saying that, if they publish the content of what we received today, they will be sued."”
