Red Bull Racing F1 driver, Max Verstappen, might break the record for the highest percentage of race victories in one season if he wins at least one more race.
It is the second season the F1 fans continue to witness complete dominance from Max Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing F1 team. Red Bull has won 18 out of 19 races this season so far.
To put Verstappen into this equation, the Dutchman has secured 16 out of the 18 Red Bull's wins. He already won the Championship two races ago and has two times more points than the second driver in the Championship - Sergio Perez.
Some of the records broken by the Flying Dutchman this season include the most consecutive races won in a single season (10), which he took away from Sebastian Vettel.
Verstappen has also led the most laps in a single season in the history of Formula One, and he continues to add to this number. Similarly, the Dutchman already scored the most points in a single season and hasn't stopped yet.
He also has the most wins from the pole position in a single season, and in Mexico City, he broke the record (his own) for the most wins in a single season when he won the 16th race.
Going into the Sao Paulo Grand Prix Sprint Weekend, Verstappen can extend his record for the most races won, but he can also secure a record for the highest percentage of race wins in a single season.
The current holder of this record is Alberto Ascari, who won six out of eight races in season 1952, making it a success rate of 75%. It has been 70 years that this record has not been broken, and Verstappen has a great chance to do it.
The 26-year-old needs to win only one out of three remaining races to finish the season with a success rate of 77%, which would be enough to break the record.
If the Flying Dutchman managed to win all three of the remaining races, his win rate would be 86,4%. Would you like to see Max Verstappen break this record?
