Max Verstappen issued an update on his health following the revelations about his problems after the 2021 Silverstone crash with Lewis Hamilton.

Last week, Red Bull Racing F1 driver Max Verstappen revealed that he had severe problems following the collision with Lewis Hamilton at the 2021 British Grand Prix, which almost made him unable to drive.

After he collided with the Mercedes driver, he was sent flying into the wall with the force of 51G as his car crashed into the barrier.

Fortunately, he survived and was able to participate in the remainder of the season. However, he told Red Bull that he wasn't doing as well as it might have looked from the outside.

Apparently, the triple World Champion struggled with vision problems- he struggled with blurry images, so much so that he seriously considered retiring during the 2021 United States Grand Prix.

The Dutchman compared how he felt to driving a speedboat at 300 km/h. Ultimately, he fought through and went on to win the Championship that year.

But what wasn't clear was whether Verstappen still struggled with the same problem in the following seasons and even until now. Speaking to the media ahead of the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix, he said:

"It was just in 21. After that, it went away. It did occur, back then."

The 26-year-old was then asked whether he was really sure that the vision problems were a directed result of the incident with the seven-time World Champion, and he said:

"It didn't happen before, let's say it like that! It's not something I would advise for people to have while driving."
"We are racing drivers. You deal with all sorts of stuff. Always here and there people have like little injuries or whatever. Those things happen."

While he suggested the problem was completely cured, the triple World Champion would not discuss the details: "It got cured, luckily. I don't want to go into details; no one needs to know."
