Max Verstappen is a racing fanatic, and he proved it recently, saying he follows the Formula E racing series.
When Formula E first started, some thought it could challenge Formula One, but a few years down the road, we can assess that it was never anywhere close to becoming as popular as F1.
Still, there are many great drivers in the series, but with the prestige of Formula 1, it might be difficult for Formula E teams to attract the best of the best.
However, current leader of the F1 World Championship and three-time World Champion, Max Verstappen, recently admitted that he closely follows the series, and thinks that the level of competition is high because of good drivers competing in it.

"What I like about Formula E is that there are quite a lot of good drivers in there. You might have raced them in the past or you've seen them around, so the competition is very high. Of course, a couple of my friends are driving in there as well, so I always keep an eye on it."

For example, Verstappen's good friend and former F1 driver, Nyck de Vries, is one of the drivers competing in the series. Clearly, it's not only the Dutchman who follows the rival racing series, as the Formula E CEO, Jeff Dodds, put a huge bet on Verstappen's title win earlier this year.
Despite having friends in Formula E, and seeing the racing series as interesting because of the drivers participating, it's still not a competition that would interest Verstappen, as he stated he wouldn't want to drive Formula E in the future.

"It's not a category I would like to drive in myself in the future. It was very cool to see the track in the city but then at the same time there was a proper jump in the track, so i don't even know who signed that off, he must have been drunk."

"But yeah it's a bit odd but I think from the driving and like the racing, they haveā€¦ I always enjoy it because the talent in the series is very high and that's of course what I think also makes it more exciting to watch."
