Former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner predicted the winner of the 13th round of the season in Budapest.
The battle at the top of the grid has gotten increasingly closer during the second quarter of the 2024 season. Consequently, it is getting harder and harder to predict the race winners- of which we had six this year already.
Many experts say McLaren now has the most versatile car, but Red Bull with Max Verstappen is still the most consistent at delivering results.
In the last four Grand Prix weekends, Mercedes joined the fight and has become stronger and stronger as the German team keeps bringing upgrades to every single race.
Ferrari was also at the front at one point but has fallen back with the wrong upgrade. So, which driver and the team could come out on top at Hungaroring this week? Speaking on the Red Flags Podcast, Guenther Steiner said:
"McLaren. It's hot in Hungary, always hot in Hungary and that McLaren is good on this stuff."
"Normally in Hungary, it is the heat, it can be an issue, it's one of the hottest races if not the hottest one after Mexico. It was almost there [for McLaren], but it wasn't there; I think it will come."
If McLaren will be the fastest, which of the Papaya duo will cross the finish line first? Steiner believes it will be "Lando [Norris]."
The current Grand Prix head-to-head comparison between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri is 9-3. The more experienced driver has had the upper hand for most of the season.
The 24-year-old stood on the podium seven times, while his teammate only twice. Both McLaren drivers could have won quite a few races, but the British team always made a mistake at the crucial point. Will it be different this weekend?
