Logan Sargeant, who will drive his second season in F1 in 2024, suggested he feels "like a different man" 23 days before the first race.
Logan Sargeant debuted in F1 in 2023. being a rookie in F1 is a very challenging job, and the American driver experienced it first-hand.
Compared to his more experienced teammate, Alex Albon, he was slower in all qualifying sessions. While Albon amassed 27 points, Sargeant managed to get only one.
The 23-year-old went into the winter break with a lot to work on, and after the recent reveal of Willaims's 2024 challenger, he asserted he feels like "a different man." He told the media at the launch event:
"I feel like a different man, to be honest, I feel like physically, I am in the best shape I've ever been in and very much changed my training regime to sort of meet what I need to improve on and what I felt like was lacking most in the car last year, which I do believe was making a difference."
Williams's new car - FW46, is supposed to be a significant change from the previous concept. According to the drivers, it will most probably require a different style of driving, which could be beneficial for the American.
"I believe that in the condition I'm in now and will continue to get into will be simply just helping me feel more comfortable in the car and extract performance."
Having got his second chance with Williams in 2024, Sargeant needs to improve to keep his seat in F1. The 23-year-old suggested the winter break was something that he really needed as he added:
"Finally having that break to actually do something about, you know, where I was physically and where I was mentally, it's just such a great opportunity for me to sort of reinvent myself and come back."
