Ferrari team principal expects Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen to make more mistakes as other teams step up their game.
The Red Bull Racing team has been almost completely flawless this season, no matter which aspect of the team we look at. From development through strategies to pit stops, the team from Milton Keynes has dominated.
Funny enough, winning the DHL award for fastest pit stop was not enough for the crew, so they recently decided to challenge themselves and do a pit stop in complete darkness without visibility, and they did it faster than some teams do it during races.
On top of everything, the team had a fantastic driver, Max Verstappen, who could always bring the best result home no matter the circumstances.
All the teams look up to Red Bull as the main benchmark and title contender going into the next season. Scuderia Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur told the media:

"For sure he [Verstappen] will be the benchmark. They [Red Bull] had an advantage this season and I'm sure they will improve next year."

On the one hand, Ferrari still lacked some pace compared to Red Bull cars at the end of the season. On the other hand, Vasseur pointed towards his team's great progress in closing the gap to the Championship leader.

"But if you look at the last part of the season I think we made a step on the technical side and we are much closer to them in qualy and the race. Even in the races we could fight with him and doing this, they will probably do some more mistakes."

The team principal of the Italian team previously stated Verstappen will make mistakes when somebody puts pressure on him and he believes the same goes for the whole Red Bull Racing team. He added:

"It's like a snowball. If you make a step forward, you get more motivation and the others struggle a bit more. We have to take it step by step and not imagine we will be winning every single weekend."
