Red Bull Racing team principal noted an awesome job
AlphaTauri driver
Yuki Tsunoda has done during his last race of the 2023 season.
Yuki Tsunoda is one of the drivers who surprised with their performances in the 2023 season. The Japanese driver
outperformed all three of his teammates together by nine points.
The 23-year-old finished 14th in the driver's championship with 17 points he had amassed for his team throughout this season.
His best performances include the
United States Grand Prix, in which he scored a P8 but added the fastest lap of the race, and the last race of the season - the
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Red Bull Racing team principal
Christian Horner Acknowledged the great race the Japanese driver has had in when he told the media:
"He did a great job, particularly on the one-stop. He obviously looked after his tires very well. And for that strategy, he had a very strong pace. I think it was arguably his best race of the year."
What was special about the race for AlphaTauri F1 driver was that he was one of the only two drivers who went for the risky one-stop strategy and made it work well.
Horner also mentioned unlucky
Daniel Ricciardo, who finished in P11 just one position outside of points. On the other hand, he hailed Tsunoda and the departing team principal, Franz Tost, saying, "It was a nice touch."
"I think Daniel had a tear-off or something in the brake duct, so it affected his race. But you know, well done to Yuki and Franz [Tost, AlphaTauri Team Principal] in his final race to have led the Grand Prix, it was a nice touch."
