McLaren revealed their MCL38 for the 2024 F1 season, and their driver, Lando Norris, gave the verdict on the car.

With the new season around the corner, all teams are starting to show their new challengers and one of them was also McLaren. The British team revealed their MCL38 on February 14, 2024, and as always, the new car's launch is tied to a lot of excitement.

That's especially true for the drivers, as they almost never know what they're really going to get. The new car can be a hit or a miss, and It's early days to judge that.

Lando Norris has already worked with the MCL38 on the simulator, so he has a rough idea of what to expect, but as he said during the car launch, the team will get a better idea of where they stand during the first qualifying session of the Bahrain Grand Prix, which is the first race in the calendar.

"I’m looking forward to shaking the car down in Bahrain. I have full confidence in the team that we’ll continue pushing forward off the back of the turnaround last season."
"However, the true test of our progress is coming up when we put the car through its paces in testing, ahead of then qualifying and racing for the Bahrain Grand Prix."

The British driver admitted that he has spent a lot of time in the McLaren Technology Centre, working on the simulator to fine tune the car and prepare it for the shakedown in hopes to make it as competitive as possible.

"Over the past few weeks, I’ve been back at the MTC putting a lot of work in on the simulator with my engineering team to ensure that we’re fully prepared ahead of next week."

Currently, the 24-year-old still misses a race win among his achievements, but he will be hoping to change that in 2024, with his excitement ahead of the new season clearly palpable.

"Thank you to everyone trackside and at the factory for their work to get us to this point. I’m excited to get to Bahrain and go racing again."
