Lando Norris has recently admitted that he would like to challenge Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who seems to be untouchable at the moment.
The Dutchman is already a three-time World Champion and no one seems to be anywhere close in terms of speed in F1. Yet, as always with this sport, it's difficult to tell as every driver has a different car.
The only ones that drivers can compare themselves to are their teammates, and that's why there are always many speculations and talks about who could replace, or challenge, who.
When speaking to DAZN, Norris talked about possibly challenging Verstappen in the future, but also named drivers that could possibly challenge the Dutch driver. The first one that he named was obviously the seven-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton.
"I would like to be one at some point. Who else could it be? It would be nice if it was Lewis [Hamilton], it would be amazing to see him."
But currently, there are more drivers that could challenge Verstappen, according to the British driver, who is currently fifth in the F1 standings.
Norris actually named every driver that is in his striking distance in the 2023 Formula One World Drivers' Championship, as he mentioned Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc, and Geroge Russel as possible challengers.
"Or Fernando [Alonso], or Carlos [Sainz], or Charles [Leclerc], or [George] Russell? They're all great drivers who you know would make it tougher for him. There have always been rumours with me and other drivers."
Only one thing is clear, and it's the fact that Verstappen can be compared only to one man, and that's the man sitting in the same car as he is. Right now, that driver is Sergio Perez, but the Mexican driver was not able to keep up with his teammate this season.
