McLaren driver
Lando Norris revealed he joined an F1 simulator competition under his brother's name and destroyed everybody else by a huge margin.
The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix is approaching, and even though multiple concerns have surfaced ahead of the race, drivers and their teams are already in Sin City enjoying the atmosphere and preparing for the great show.
Lando Norris revealed during a press event on Tuesday he had some fun on a simulator located in one of the Las Vegas shopping malls.
The driver apparently joined a competition for the fastest lap around the circuit where people can pay $65 to have a go, and the winner can get a price of $200. According to express.co.uk, Norris said:
"There’s a simulator in the mall - it’s a rip-off, you pay $65, and if you win you get $200. So my brother’s nearly $140 richer because I did it under his name! I was 45 seconds quicker than P2, so it was close."
The 24-year-old mentioned he beat the previous best time by 45 seconds which is an insane margin. At the end of the day, the McLaren driver showed why he gets paid the big bucks.
However, a bigger challenge awaits Norris this weekend. This Saturday which will be the first in F1 history to include qualification and Grand Prix race in the same day.
While the McLaren driver "
gave up on guessing" how the pace of his car might be in Las Vegas, he will want to challenge
Max Verstappen on
Red Bull, who won 17 out of 20 races of the season so far.
Another challenge that awaits Norris this weekend will be performing better than
Aston Martin drivers, whose team principal said his team "
will never give up" in a fight for third place in the Constructors' Championship.
