Adrian Newey's wife recently responded to tweets from three major news outlets, using blunt language to express her disapproval of recent reports.
Adrian Newey has been widely credited for the RB18 and RB19 (Red Bull's 2022 and 2023 cars) designs that led to an immensely successful season for the team from Milton Keynes.
In their recent interviews, both
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner and the team's technical director Pierre Wache talked about the 65-year-old's involvement in car development.
Horner told motorsport.com:
"Adrian is a big part of this team and big part of what we've achieved. But of course, his role has evolved over the last few years and the technical team beneath him led by Pierre Wache, they're doing a wonderful job and so that they're not reliant on Adrian."
"He’s irreplaceable, yes – you cannot replace him! On a daily basis, he’s not part of our process."
Many major news outlets interpreted these quotes from Red Bull figures as suggesting that the 65-year-old is becoming less and less involved in the development of his team's cars.
Mirror F1 believed quotes from Horner were hinting that Newey's era in Red Bull was coming to an end as the team planned for the future without their current CTO.
AutoRacing1.com even said that Newey was not to be credited for the designs of RB19 and RB20, it was rather his crew led by Pierre Wache.
Newey's wife Amanda did not like the recent tweets as she made clear in the comments under recent articles where she wrote "What a load of hogwash" and "Absolute bo*****s." See the tweets below.
The question now is, did Amanda Newey not agree with what Christian Horner and Pierre Wache said? Or did she not agree with how the media understood their statements? What do you think?
