Max Verstappen is a generational talent, a driver you don't find every year, and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko is fully aware.
The Flying Dutchman has been dominating F1 in the previous three years, winning three consecutive World Championships. However, as with every athlete, he won't be able to compete forever, and therefore, it's sensible for Red Bull to start looking for a replacement.
That's why the team is always looking out for new drivers and hiring young talents, who may eventually step into their team in the Formula One. One of the people also involved in that process is Helmut Marko, who is the leading advisor in the Red Bull Racing.
During a recent interview with an Austrian publication, OE24, the former Austrian professional racing driver discussed one of the newest Red Bull talents, Oliver Goethe.
Goethe is a 19-year-old German-Danish driver, who has finished eighth in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 World Championship for Trident Racing. He has recorded one race win, and in November 2023, he joined Red Bull's Junior Team. Speaking about Goethe, Marko said:
"Good name, good guy. A German living in London and Monte Carlo. He was quick in the tests and next year he has to prove himself in Formula 3. He has a certain boldness."
However, despite recruiting another talented driver into Red Bull's roster, Marko admits that he already gave up searching for another Max Verstappen, as according to the Austrian, someone like that doesn't exist.
"But I've already given up looking for a new Verstappen, he doesn't exist. I'll be happy if we find a future GP winner."
In the coming seasons, the Dutch driver will have a chance to prove that he's one of a kind. Currently a three-time World Champion, if Verstappen's career progresses in the same direction as it has trended in recent years, he may surpass F1 legends Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher, who have both won seven World Drivers' Championships.
