Mercedes F1 team principal
Toto Wolff said he expects Las Vegas to be a "tremendous show" for audiences and drivers with their teams.
F1 is one of the more dynamic sports with many rule changes, swapping circuits, and evolving cars. There are no two seasons that would be the same.
What differentiates this year from previous ones is the new sprint weekend format, some small changes in qualifying rules, and the main thing - the Inaugural
Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Race at
Las Vegas Strip Circuit has been probably the most promoted race during the 2023 season, and it will take place this week. However, a few worries started surfacing as we approached the weekend.
Mercedes said the weather will play a huge role, and the fact that the race is scheduled for the night does not help the track temperatures, which were already expected to be pretty low.
Max Verstappen recently
said he is not a fan of the race and does not think the circuit is made in a way that would offer a racing spectacle for the fans.
On the other hand, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff expressed trust in Liberty Media, who organize the grand prix. As reported by
RacingNews365, he said:
"There's an enormous effort that Liberty undertook with Las Vegas, and I think it's going to be a tremendous show for the audiences, for us."'
In terms of Mercedes's performance on the track, team principal avoided giving any indication on where he thinks his team might be. Wolff explained:
"I don't know what to expect. You can see those swings you asked me [in Mexico] and I'm like, 'yeah, we're going to Brazil and this is going to be awesome.' Now we're going to a track that we haven't been in even, so I don't know.
Mercedes team will want to bounce back in Las Vegas after one of their toughest weekends of the season in Sao Paulo.
