Ahead of the 2024 F1 season, McLaren is making interesting moves, which leave fans guessing what's coming next from the British team.
At the start of the 2023 season, McLaren was surprisingly among the last teams on the grid. Their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have struggled to place the car on point places, but that changed mid-way through the season.
During the summer, the British team started performing better and better, unexpectedly collecting one podium after another, and even threatening Red Bull in some races and challenging for a race win on multiple occasions.
Thanks to their late surge, they were able to finish fourth in the 2023 World Constructors' Championship, but it seems that they want to achieve even more in 2024, with their latest social media moves surprising all fans.
Suddenly, the British team removed all of their social media posts on Instagram, and with Norris yet to sign a new contract, fans immediately started speculating whether the latest moves could be related to him, as the only post that appeared on their page was a video with a motto: "Whatever it takes."
Soon after that, the team posted an update on their official website, which didn't bring any more clarity either, but made it seem like "whatever it takes" would be the team's new official motto, and a teaser for their 2024 campaign.
In their update, McLaren reminded fans that they were often written off in 2023, but thanks to the "whatever it takes" mindset, which was established by the team's founder, Bruce McLaren, the team pushed through and achieved good results.
"Whatever it takes is high performance but with heart and soul. It’s finding a level you didn’t even think possible, and pushing your teammates to even greater heights than they could have imagined."
For now, fans can only speculate about what is this latest move by McLaren trying to achieve, but their campaign certainly brought a lot of success from fans.
"It’s about taking responsibility and accountability and working collectively to achieve our ultimate ambitions. If every single person at McLaren can do that, results will follow, and who knows where that could take us."
